It’s time for our fall campout. We will be camping at Harmony State Park on Nov. 9-10. The official start time is 1:00pm on Saturday through 10:00am on Sunday. A lot of families like to come out to the park on Friday night for a night of family camping. Please contact Brandon Jackson (email@example.com) to sign up. The cost to attend is waved for scouts and registered adults. Otherwise, the cost is $7 for adults and $4 for tags (siblings/friends that are not scouts). The fee is just to cover the cost of dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Please visit the information page on this website for more information and details about camping with pack 371. This year Brandon will be smoking pork butt, so the campground is sure to smell wonderful.
I hope everyone has had a great summer and is ready to go back to school! With the new school year comes another 9 months of scouts, sports and programs. The committee for our pack has been working hard to plan and organize another fun filled scouting year. New this year, will be the Space Derby replacing the Rain Gutter Regatta. We are also looking forward to another successful popcorn sale. We will again be participating in the Fall Festival Parade, racing our cars in the Pinewood Derby, camping, and serving our community in more ways than ever before.

Don’t forget to register with your den leader for the Blue and Gold Banquet that is coming up on Feb. 23. This is a very special event that celebrates the “Birthday” of Boy Scouts. We will celebrate this year with a super-hero themed party. We will have “photo booths” for you to take a picture of your scout in his best Super Hero pose.
Also, don’t forget to make that cake that will be judged by our Cubmaster and other special judges. The cakes will be judged in the following catagories: Most elaborate, Most Patriotic, Most Colorful, Most Original, Funniest, Best Scout Theme, Best Sports theme, Best Super Hero theme, Cub Master’s Choice, and Cook’s Choice.

Title: Icemen Game
Location: Ford Center
Description: We will have a pack outing to the Ford Center to watch an Evansville Icemen hockey game. The game starts at 5:00, and after the game, the boys will be able to go onto the ice and try to hit a half-court goal. The cost is $12/person, and this includes your ticket, a t-shirt, popcorn and soda. Please bring your money to the campout this weekend. If you are not going to the campout, contact your den leader to discuss the payment.

I wanted to let you know that there are pictures up from the Fall Festival parade on the Photo tab. However, I’m still trying to wade my way through the ins and outs of this program. We need to give a big shout out to the designers/decorators for our Pack 371 float that was in the Fall Festival Parade last Saturday night. Thank you to David Blandford, Cliff Harth, Brandon Jackson, Jeremy Word, Michelle Blandford, Joann Bogard, Kyle and Katie Blandford, Mason Harth, Colin Jackson and Grant Word for coming early to help decorate the float. The float won 2nd place overall, and also the International President’s Award. The West Side Nut Club presented our pack with two trophies and a check for $1000!

It’s that time of year again, time to help support your dens and the pack by selling popcorn. This fundraiser is really the only fundraiser that the pack participates in, so it is very important that you do your part so that we can have a successful year. I hope that everyone had a great start during this last weekend, the Blitz Weekend. Remember, the goal is for each boy to sell $300.00. Another great way to boost your sales is to work the store fronts that have been set up for you. Please contact your son’s Popcorn Den Kernel if you havent signed up yet. (If you have questions about your Den Kernel, please contact your Den Leader.)
