Blue and Gold Banquet is Coming!

Don’t forget to register with your den leader for the Blue and Gold Banquet that is coming up on Feb. 23.  This is a very special event that celebrates the “Birthday” of Boy Scouts.  We will celebrate this year with a super-hero themed party.  We will have “photo booths” for you to take a picture of your scout in his best Super Hero pose.

Also, don’t forget to make that cake that will be judged by our Cubmaster and other special judges.  The cakes will be judged in the following catagories: Most elaborate, Most Patriotic, Most Colorful, Most Original, Funniest, Best Scout Theme, Best Sports theme, Best Super Hero theme, Cub Master’s Choice, and Cook’s Choice.

If you click on the “Events” tab at the top of this page, and find 2013 Blue and Gold, you will find all of the details for the event, including the menue and some links for cake ideas.  Can’t wait to see you all there.

I’m still learning

I wanted to let you know that there are pictures up from the Fall Festival parade on the Photo tab.  However, I’m still trying to wade my way through the ins and outs of this program.  To view the photos, you must click, “View Slideshow,”  otherwise, the site will link you to archived posts from 2 or 3 years ago.

It’s Popcorn Time

It’s that time of year again, time to help support your dens and the pack by selling popcorn.  This fundraiser is really the only fundraiser that the pack participates in, so it is very important that you do your part so that we can have a successful year.  I hope that everyone had a great start during this last weekend, the Blitz Weekend.  Remember, the goal is for each boy to sell $300.00.  Another great way to boost your sales is to work the store fronts that have been set up for you.  Please contact your son’s Popcorn Den Kernel if you havent signed up yet.  (If you have questions about your Den Kernel, please contact your Den Leader.)

Friday, October 26, 5-8pm              Popcorn Conferencing.  All order forms and unsold Show & Deliver popcorn is due at this time.

Saturday, October 27 9:00am        End of Popcorn Sale and Redistribution   If you have order that can be filled with surplus Show & Deliver product, you can pick it up on this day.

Welcome to A New Year!

Welcome to a new year of Pack 371 Cub Scouts! Last night, Sept. 6 was the West Terrace round-up, and we had a great turnout.  We will be adding 5 Tigers, 3 Wolves, 4 Bears and 1 Webelos, but don’t forget to keep inviting friends to join; it’s never too late.

It’s going to be a great year.  The calendar shows many activities that will be going on this year, both traditional to the pack and some new things too.  We will participate in the Fall Festival Parade and Cub Scout Field Day.  We are going camping in November and June, we will go rock climbing at Vertical eXcape, ice skating at Swonder and hiking at Pounds Hollow in the spring.  We will sell popcorn, have a Pinewood Derby, make and sail Raingutter Regatta sailboats, and celebrate the birthday of Boy Scouting at the Blue and  Gold Banquet.

Crossover Ceremony Tonight

NEWEST UPDATE!
USI Has scheduled a double header on top of us tonight. There is no parking available and the noise is really bad. Therefore we are moving crossover to the Gym at WSCC. This is the final landing spot. Sorry for the trouble.

UPDATE!

I ran over to USI to look at the grounds, and there are a few small puddle spots, but it looks great otherwise. Crossover will be at USI as planned. There is a slight chance of some rain tonight according to the hourly report, but I see nothing at all on radar. So be prepared… bring an umbrella. I think it will be a beautiful night for a crossover ceremony outdoors!

Leaders, Please update your dens if there are those in your group that don’t check email.

Dear pack,

I’m continuing to keep an eye on weather although it’s not looking good for our ceremony tonight. I’ll make an official announcement via email and posted here closer to noon after I’ve spoken some more folks. If not at USI, crossover will be held in the gym at WSCC.

Just a reminder, It is pot luck dinner. Please bring a side and a dessert. Also bring your drinks.

Tonights event is CLASS A uniform. We have a few kids who have consistently not been in uniform lately. Scouts is a uniformed program. You would not send your youth to baseball or basketball not in uniform. Please show scouting the same respect.

More information on crossover can be found here:
